*yawns....* I am super tired today. Was on duty on Mon and yest. Sometimes it's a waste of time waiting for the application to extract the data that can take up to 3 hrs! Just imagine...3 hours of boredom! I have been enduring this for the past 1 year... but one good thing about this job is, it gives you a sense of satisfaction if you manage to run all applications on time AND manage to upload the huge data into the mainframe without errors. Phew~ That part is very crucial.
Well my job isn't just about uploading data and printing reports upon completion. That is the job of the duty person(night duty once a week). As for daily task, I work with one of the business analyst to support one of the system used to keep track of the Accident and Health products/campaigns. I'm doing operation support for the EMMA
(initially I thought "EMMA" was a person. Hahaha~) system. I have to liase with several banks for the payment settlement, attend to user's request and also provide solution
(if i'm able to. Else, escalate to the B.A) to their problems. There's alot more to list down actually.
I love doing this job but being in IT line, you must always keep track of the changes. You must be prepared for the everchanging changes in the company. But for me, I endure this changes positively. With changes in your life, you are more aware of the things happening around you. Agreeable? ;-)
I will try to push myself to be like my mentor
(the B.A I'm working with). She has superb knowledge about the system that she is handling. Wow~ Everyday without fail, she will give me many good advices. She said she believes in me. She said that she knows that I can be successful one day. Aww~ Thanks Rita.
(She's an indonesian chinese btw.) I am very close to her in the office. Very approachable and very motherly even though she's just 7 yrs my senior. "Thanks for all your eye-opener advices dear.:)"
Suddenly I am eager to start school. I am curious to know what I will be in 4 yrs time after I graduate insya Allah. I am eager and excited to face the challenging world. A year of experience in AIG has thought me A LOT about working in a teamwork, maintaining a good rapport with your colleagues, face all the challenges and problems that may arise in the team together, hand in hand helping one another and many more. AIG is the place if you want to feel how it is to work with people from different countries
(yah can't deny you can work with people from different countries in other companies but I am just sharing with you my point of view. ;-) )Finally, I seriously feel that I have reached somewhere. I have started my journey towards success and I know that I will reach my destination sooner or later. I am not born a genius but I can prove to them, who doubt my ability, that I can be someone...one fine day...
